Fiona Ingram WOI Nov/Dec '15 Tour
A thrilling adventure for two young boys, whose fun trip to Egypt turned into a dangerously exciting quest to uncover an ancient and mysterious secret, leading them to Britain, King Arthur and the Dark Ages.
Author Fiona Ingram is proud to announce the release of her new action-packed adventure novel The Search for the Stone of Excalibur (published by Biblio Publishing).
About the Book:
Continuing the adventure that began in Egypt a few months prior in The Secret of the Sacred Scarab, cousins Adam and Justin Sinclair are hot on the trail of the second Stone of Power, one of seven ancient stones lost centuries ago. This stone might be embedded in the hilt of a newly discovered sword that archaeologists believe belonged to King Arthur: Excalibur.
Join Justin and Adam as they search not only for the second Stone of Power, but also for the Scroll of the Ancients, a mysterious document that holds important clues to the Seven Stones of Power. As their adventure unfolds, they learn many things and face dangers that make even their perils in Egypt look tame. And how annoying for them that their tag-along companion, Kim, seems to have such good ideas when they are stumped. Book extras include some historical background on King Arthur, the Dark Ages, warfare and weaponry during Arthur’s time, and details on Excalibur. A fascinating peek into the life and times of the real King Arthur, perfect for young time travelers and budding archaeologists.
"I was hooked from the first book and very excited to devour the second. I was eager to learn more about the Scroll of the Ancients and found this book to reveal more about the true nature of the stones. Again, Ingram describes her characters and locals in such a vivid way that the reader cannot help but picture themselves right there alongside the cousins. I loved the historical information at the end as well as the preview of the next book! The Search for the Stone of Excalibur is certain to be the next great young adult series of our time!. 5 stars!" -- Heather Osborne for Readers Favorite
"Fiona has an engaging writing style, and ... makes everything feel fresh again. Character development is the key to the story, and the dialogue is snappy. The story is a delightful reminder of childhood fun and mischief. We also appreciated the extra notes at the end of the book - Readers' Guide To King Arthur & The Dark Ages. It's definitely an added bonus to end the story. If there are young reluctant readers in your family, this might just be the kick they need to get over that hump. 5 stars!" -- Lit Amri for Readers Favorite

The Search for the Stone of Excalibur is filled with action and adventure, puzzles and ghostly presences, and stalwart companions ready to face any and all perils that come their way. What more could a reader ask for? The Search for the Stone of Excalibur is a marvelous historical adventure tale, and it's most highly recommended. 5 stars"--Jack Magnus for Readers Favorite
"Just like the first book, the history is a fascinating element to the plot and I learned a lot about King Arthur and Arthurian legend. This is an excellent read aloud, with the short chapters keep the adventure moving forward and readers wanting more."--Terry Doherty, The Reading Tub
"Fiona Ingram has written an amazing story of history and adventure for young readers. Interweaving facts with fiction, the author provides the young reader with considerable historical detail. This reads very well as historical fiction as well as adventure. It may have been written for the pre-teen audience, but it's an adventure that would appeal to all ages. Very well done!"--Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers Favorite

“The spectral figure drew his sword from its scabbard and held it aloft. It seemed to Adam that he saw every detail with strangely magnified clarity. It was the same sword from the museum, but it looked so different now. The metal gleamed with a peculiar bluish sheen. Curious characters embossed the length of the blade. At the top, just under the crossguard, was a small circle with a seven-pointed star inside it. Sparkling gems decorated the hilt and pommel, with two dragons’ heads facing inward on the crossguard. The stone between the dragons’ open mouths glowed brilliant red. Suddenly, a fiery, almost blinding light shot from the stone, dazzling him. The white horse reared on its hindquarters. The radiant beam lit up the forest as the warrior whirled the blade around his head several times.”
